LOS ANGELES — Breanna Stewart is too good for the Liberty to stand still at the trade deadline.
She remains one of the two best players in the WNBA and could even be a dark horse candidate for her first Defensive Player of the Year nod if New York’s overall team defense improves.
Too often, she’s been asked to shoulder the burden of carrying the injury-plagued New York team up to this point.
Her trusty sidekick Sabrina Ionescu has recently rediscovered her flow. Jonquel Jones had an All-Star-worthy first half.
