Leviosa! The City of Perris is casting a spell on Southern California this summer with the launch of Harry Potter: A Hogwarts Express Adventure at the Southern California Railway Museum.
The immersive train experience, inspired by the beloved “Harry Potter” film and book franchise, will take riders aboard a real moving train for a one-of-a-kind journey celebrating the beloved Hogwarts Express.
The adventure runs from July 24 through September 27.
“This exciting new event adds to the incredible lineup of experiences offered right here in Perris,” said Perris Mayor Michael M. Vargas via a press release. “We are proud to support attractions like the Hogwarts Express Adventure that bring families together, create lasting memories, and continue to draw visitors to our community.”
Muggles will begin their wizarding journey with a themed pre-boarding experience at Platform 9¾, stepping into the magic before boarding the historic train.
Onboard, expect live actors, interactive house activities, spell-casting decor, illusions, and surprising encounters that bring Hogwarts to life.
The roughly two-hour experience includes a one-hour train ride that “wands” its way through the scenic Inland Empire, while guests are encouraged to wear their favorite wizard robes and house attire.
After the ride, visitors can explore a Hogsmeade-inspired village with themed food, beverages and merchandise. A trolley resplendent with wizarding treats will also be on hand during the journey.
Located at 2201 South A Street in Perris, the Southern California Railway Museum — around a two-hour drive from LA if traffic permits — is transforming into a hub of wizarding wonder for the limited run.
The experience is suitable for fans of all ages and promises to deliver an unforgettable, theatrical adventure on the magical rails.
This marks one of the first major Harry Potter-themed train experiences of its kind in the United States, bringing a piece of the Wizarding World to Riverside County.
Tickets are available now through the official Southern California Railway Museum site.
