American golfer Michael Thorbjornsen, 24, produced an insane surge in the final round of the 2026 Rocket Classic on Sunday at Detroit Golf Club, which earned him the first PGA Tour win of his career.
Thorbjornsen entered the day at 11 under par; which, while solid, didn’t have him likely to win the tournament. Then he produced a stellar 7-under score in the final round, putting him at 18 under overall and placing him atop the leaderboard.
Thorbjornsen was firing on all cylinders on Sunday. This was shown when he sank a chip shot from the rough on the 12th hole, which put him within one stroke of the lead.
This shot caught the attention of Thorbjornsen’s new girlfriend, Charley Stowell, who reposted it to her Instagram Story on Sunday afternoon.
Thorbjornsen had kept his personal life private in the past but hard-launched his relationship with Stowell with an Instagram post on June 19, which showed the happy couple arm-in-arm and sitting at a table together. The post was simply captioned, “❤️”.
There isn’t much known about Stowell now. Her LinkedIn profile indicates that she’s from Santa Clarita, and she’s a certified Pilates instructor. She seemingly attends Arizona State University, studying marketing and management.
She has just over 5,000 Instagram followers, but her platform will quickly rise if Thorbjornsen keeps placing at the top of PGA Tour events.
