Christmas can be a nightmare for many household budgets, but for one Sydney mother, the season will be especially jolly this year.
Susan’s OnlyFans side hustle has turned December’s usual financial headache into an opportunity for extra cheer.
It’s a tightly held secret known only by her husband and a few of her closest friends, but it’s left the family in a position to splash some Christmas cash that they wouldn’t normally have.
“Extra Pocket Money”
“OnlyFans gives us a little bit of pocket money to help cover the kids’ swimming lessons… and having swimming lessons covered gives us some extra room to spend at Christmas,” she exclusively tells Kidspot.
After starting the account in January, the mom of two is heading into the holiday season feeling more comfortable than ever.
She and her husband jokingly refer to the additional income as “pocket money.”
“Having an additional source of income does give us a little extra cash to splurge. We usually feel the pinch a little more around this time of year but this year I’m not feeling so stretched.”
It also means some exciting firsts — hosting the family for Christmas lunch.
“Before this year, we didn’t feel we could afford the expense of hosting Christmas for our extended families. OnlyFans has given us the opportunity to share the day with our family in our home.”
“I’ve found friends”
Beyond the income, the gig has been fantastic for her personal growth.
“OnlyFans has helped me tackle loneliness, given me extra income, found friends, and given me so much more confidence in myself and my sexuality,” Susan says.
She believes it’s a great option for mothers wanting to splurge without sacrificing and cutting back too much.
“I strongly recommend it to women who are curious,” she says.
“I feel very seen”
As for the negativity — Susan is aware it’s an occupation other parents might not agree with.
“There’s obviously a lot of judgement around this type of work,” she says.
She recently commented on a post about OnlyFans in a local Facebook group, anonymously revealing she creates explicit adult content.
“I’m shocked that in this day and age I see a lot of negative comments about OnlyFans creators or other forms of sex work.
“The Facebook post proved this, with other mums likening it to “selling your soul” for example.” she said.
While her X-rated work remains secret to her children, Susan is able to give them the Christmas she knows they deserve.
“I’ve found a community that doesn’t judge me for loving sex and self-love. I may choose not to show my face but I feel very seen,” she says.
Susan has asked we keep her real name and identity anonymous.
