In classic OG Anunoby style, the Knicks star kept it brief when discussing teammate Karl-Anthony Towns’ wedding in Malibu, Calif., over the weekend.
“It was a good wedding,” Anunoby said in response to a question from The Post at a Times Square event Tuesday, where Essentia partnered with Anunoby for a basketball takeover to recreate his iconic tip-in from the NBA Finals.
Towns and his wife, Jordyn Woods, were married at a star-studded ceremony two months after the Knicks’ championship run, with Anunoby, Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, Jose Alvarado and Miles McBride all in attendance alongside other celebrities such as Timothée Chalamet and Ben Stiller.
Anunoby, according to photos from the wedding, donned a suit, white shirt and white sneakers.
Brunson, who attended with his wife Ali, wore a cast over his surgically repaired left wrist.
And, in a way, Towns’ ceremony continued a summer of celebration for the Knicks, who defeated the Spurs in five games in June to snap their 53-year title drought.
There was the 13-game winning streak that began with a Game 4 win against the Hawks in the first round, sweeps against the 76ers and Cavaliers, Anunoby’s tip-in to give them a 3-1 lead over the Spurs in the Finals and then the Canyon of Heroes parade that followed it all.
Towns and Woods were together for over five years before getting married, with Towns proposing on Christmas Day, and guests received sweatshirts saying “Married in 5” in a nod to the Knicks’ playoff run.
And days later, Anunoby, without revealing much, seemed to at least hint at having a good time at the wedding near the end of the Times Square event — which included Gersh Park Basketball players attempting to recreate Anunoby’s forever shot as he played the role of Jalen Brunson, who took the initial shot, until someone made it.
