The Mets just hosted the Royals at Citi Field, and on Friday, they welcome the Red Sox to Queens. Those are their past two World Series opponents. Of course, it’s been 40 years since the Mets won their last championship, beating Boston in an unforgettable series in 1986. Not surprisingly, the current Mets don’t have a lot of knowledge about that ’86 team — though A.J. Ewing said, “I heard that team was pretty electric. I know they did some great things.” Any hope of this group coming close to replicating what that historic team accomplished vanished weeks — or…

A simple lifestyle adjustment could potentially slow down the body’s biological aging process, according to new research. The study, published in the journal Aging, investigated how a diet change and easy exercise regimen affected men between the ages of 50 and 74 over a three-month period. Researchers designed a clinical trial involving 48 overweight men in Japan. Over a 12-week period, half of the participants followed a strictly structured wellness routine, while the other half maintained their usual habits. For the intervention group, the routine required consuming 100 grams of plain yogurt every day. This group also received individualized dietary counseling that…

You can add another brick to the “wall of worry” facing the $2.27 trillion crypto market – and it has “Michael Saylor” written all over it. That’s a lot of Bitcoin, around 800,000 of them. With Bitcoin last year…

Online posts reportedly penned by the state’s most powerful leaders emerged this week, including Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, former LAUSD chief Alberto Carvalho, first partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom and Senator Alex Padilla. The majority were five stars for visits to sites such as dinner spots, pet stores, massage parlors and medical facilities. But firebrand former Congresswoman Porter bucked the trend, writing extended essays tearing into a masseuse, a taxi firm, a hair salon and a pizza shop.…

It’s the pink mommy club of the Upper East Side. But only the well-connected seem to know it’s there.  The Pearl — part fitness studio, part social club, part multigenerational event space for personal development programming and bachelorette parties alike — sits in a building like any other on a street like any other on the Upper East Side.  There’s no signage or reason to believe taking the elevator to the fifth floor will bring you anywhere other than a dentist’s office or a tax consultant’s cubicle.  Inside the 5,500-square-foot space, however, the ceilings are high and the feminine energy…

Teddy Swims is pouring his emotions into his art. The two-time Grammy nominee, 33, released his powerful new single, “Break Up in Reverse,” on Friday, July 10, after revealing his split from his girlfriend, Raiche Wright. The lyrics find Swims wishing to undo a failed relationship. “Every night would get better instead of getting worse / I’d watch you slowly slip back into my hands,” he sings during the song’s chorus. “Say goodbye to me in the beginning / And love me in the end.” The “Lose Control” singer even references Wright’s home state, crooning in the track’s second verse,…

The Yankees threw a bullpen game on Thursday, which begs the question: Do they need to acquire a starting pitcher by the Aug. 3 trade deadline — and preferably much sooner than that? Because by some point around the deadline, Max Fried and Carlos Rodón might be closing in on returns to the big league rotation. And late in August, Clarke Schmidt could begin to join the conversation as well, whether the bigger need is in the rotation or bullpen. But that is still weeks away. And while the Yankees have the benefit of the All-Star break coming up, once…

WASHINGTON — Iran has reportedly armed Cuba with a fleet of 300 kamikaze drones, putting the US mainland at risk of suffering a devastating attack, Jeb Bush warned Wednesday.   Shahed drones, which have a range of up to 1,500 miles and can be packed with up to 110 pounds of explosives,  gave the US headaches in the Middle East during the war in Iran because they are somewhat cheap to make, but are used for potent attacks. Florida is just about 90 miles from Cuba — well within the range for any drone attack from Cuba. “Iran has been a…
