New White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller pledged his “absolute loyalty” and “unwavering commitment” to President Trump and the country hours after being named to the powerful post.
Miller, a fiery aide who used to warm up Trump’s rally crowds after joining his campaign back in 2015, spoke at Mar-a-Lago Friday night after Trump elevated his enforcer and pushed aside chief Susie Wiles following a Democratic blue wave that toppled Republicans in the midterms.
“Let me tell you, if it wasn’t for President Trump, the United States of America would not exist right now,” gushed Miller, 41. “This man saved America.
“This man took a bullet for us. He faced down life in prison for us. He saved the Republican Party from the ash heap of history and has made us stronger, more popular, and more resilient than ever before,” he continued.
“It is the honor of my life to be President Trump’s chief of staff, and I swear to you, and I pledge to you, Mr. President, my absolute loyalty, my unwavering commitment, and my total devotion to your success and the success of this country.”
Trump tapped the pugnacious Miller, who helped design his immigration crackdown, while staring down a new Democratic House and Senate.
Elected Democratic candidates have vowed to confront his policies on immigration, the Iran war, and tariffs and probe his team.
