Taylor Swift got a shout-out during boyfriend Travis Kelce’s latest post-game interview.
After Kelce, 35, and the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-24 on Monday, November 4, the tight end sat down with ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt.
Van Pelt, 58, motioned to the legions of Chiefs fans who’d “hung out late” at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium to hear Kelce speak before alluding to Swift’s ongoing Eras Tour.
“You work late, but not like your girl. She works for, like, three hour shows,” Van Pelt quipped. “You put in a light night of work.”
Despite poking fun at Kelce, Van Pelt also praised the athlete for his “incredible job” during the game. Kelce tied his career high for receptions during a single game on Monday, further disproving those who doubted him when he got off to a slow start this season.
Van Pelt noted that “things are working out OK lately” after some NFL fans questioned “what’s wrong with big 87” earlier in the season. (87 is Kelce’s jersey number.)
“They’re just working, baby. We’re going up that staircase,” Kelce replied. “Hopefully by the end of this year, man, we’re hustling another [Super Bowl] trophy.”
Swift, 34, was in the stands when the Chiefs won Super Bowl LVIII in February, beating the San Francisco 49ers 25-22. She showed her support for Kelce once again on Monday, sitting in an Arrowhead suite between her mom, Andrea Swift, and Travis’ mom, Donna Kelce.
Andrea, 66, showed her team spirit by rocking a black jacket emblazoned with the words “In My Chiefs Era.” Taylor’s dad, Scott Swift, and brother, Austin Swift, were also in attendance.
In addition to hanging with Donna, 72, and her family, Swift, who has been dating Travis since the summer of 2023, was also seen spending time with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, and Travis’ brother, Jason Kelce.
Swift and Jason, 37, shared a sweet hug in a private suite during the game, which came days after the former Philadelphia Eagles center raised eyebrows for an interaction with a heckler.
In a Saturday, November 2, viral video, Jason threw a heckler’s smartphone on the ground after they used a homophobic slur while referring to Travis and Taylor’s relationship.
“How does it feel that your brother is a f—– for dating Taylor Swift?” the person asked.
After Jason, who was outside Penn State University’s Beaver Stadium, grabbed the heckler’s phone and hurled it on the ground, he said, “Who’s the f—– now?” three times.
The retired football player expressed regret with how he handled the situation during Monday’s episode of Monday Night Countdown.
“I’m not happy with anything that took place. I’m not proud of it,” he said. “Within a heated moment, I chose to greet hate with hate, and I don’t think that’s a productive thing. I don’t think it leads to discourse. In that moment, I fell down to a level that I shouldn’t have. Bottom line is, I try to live my life by the golden rules. That’s what I’ve always been taught. I try to treat people with decency and respect. I’m going to keep doing that moving forward.”
Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce, also attended Monday’s game dressed in a red sweater in honor of the Chiefs. Swift, meanwhile, sported a Chiefs bomber jacket over a black top with black denim shorts and matching cowboy boots.
