WASHINGTON — President Trump kicked off Memorial Day with his traditional passive-aggressive holiday rage post against his enemies, bashing “all of the Dumocrats, RINOS, and Fools who know nothing about the potential deal I am making with Iran.”
The president got an earlier start than in recent holidays, firing off his standard holiday rage post around 6:18 am ET.
“Happy Memorial Day to all, including the Dumocrats, who disrespect our Military and all of the tremendous success that it has had over the last year. God Bless those that have made the ultimate sacrifice. I love you all!” he posted on Truth Social.
The rage post came minutes after Trump vented about the slings and arrows he’s taken on the negotiations with Iran, railing against his GOP critics as well as the “Dumocrats,” his favored new slur for the Dems.
Talks with Iran had dominated Trump’s weekend as his team scrambled to see if it could get a deal over the finish line. Ultimately, that didn’t happen, but there are expectations that an initial framework could get done within days.
“I laugh at all of the Dumocrats, RINOS, and Fools who know nothing about the potential deal I am making with Iran, things that haven’t even been negotiated yet,” Trump seethed on Truth Social.
He gloated over the primary defeats of Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), while dinging Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) as well as “almost all Dumocrats,” who have bashed the negotiations.
“These people should go home and rest, they do nothing but create division and loss. In other words, they are losers!” he added. “The deal with Iran will either be a great and meaningful one, or there will be no deal. It will be the exact opposite of the JCPOA disaster negotiated by the failed Obama Administration.”
Over the weekend, speculation began to mount that a deal was imminent, but a senior Trump administration official later made the rounds with the media and stressed it could take days.
That’s because of Iran’s slow internal deliberation process. Meanwhile, Trump clarified that he instructed his team not to “rush” into anything.
The rumored framework had rattled GOP hawks, who fretted that it would be too soft on Iran. Some Democratic critics needled Trump, chiding that the framework seemed similar to the Obama-era Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
The administration is “confident” that Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has signed off on the “broad template” for a peace plan, including Iran agreeing “in principle” to disposing of its enriched uranium, a senior official said.
Throughout his presidency, Trump has marked major holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and more by passively-aggressively tearing into his foes before wishing them a happy holiday.
Later in the day Monday, he will head over to Arlington Cemetery to participate in a wreath-laying ceremony for the fallen American soldiers.
