Kelli Giddish is returning to Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (SVU) — the very show where she met her husband, Beau Richards.
Giddish, who is rejoining the SVU cast for season 27 as Sergkeeant Amanda Rollins, opened up about meeting Richards while chatting with Today on February 9, 2026.
While she didn’t share the exact date she and Richards first met, she shared insight into the moment she knew their relationship had shifted, which all started when he worked as her driver.
“We became friends and then it turned into something romantic,” she gushed at the time. “We still work there and we actually sneak in lunch every now and then. We can kind of talk about our day.”
Together, Giddish and Richards share one son, Oldie, whom they welcomed in June 2023 after tying the knot in 2021.

Kelli Giddish and Beau Richards met while she was filming Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Giddish recalled meeting Richards while he worked as her driver during a January 2026 episode of Today.
“He was actually my driver at the time,” she said. “We became friends and then it turned into something romantic. We still work there and we actually sneak in lunch every now and then. We can kind of talk about our day,” she added. Giddish also joked that their lunches on set are “very romantic.”
While she didn’t share the exact date she and Richards met, Giddish first appeared in SVU in 2011 during the show’s season 13 premiere.

Kelli Giddish and Beau Richards tied the knot during a ceremony in New Orleans in 2021. Three months after getting married, she shared a romantic photo of the pair kissing via Instagram.
“Happy beyond words to have met and married my love, my man, my sweet beau 11/7/21 #NOLA,” she captioned the post. “You are my light, and the most supreme step-father Ludo and Charlie could ask for.”

Giddish joked that her three boys are comparable to the WWE Superstars. “I counted the balls in my living room and I stopped at 22,” she laughed. “There are two basketball goals in my living room.”
“Unless someone starts crying, it’s total background noise,” she added.
What Is Beau Richards Doing Now?
Beau Richards is still working as a member of the SVU case. Giddish shared that she and he “actually sneak in lunch every now and then” on set, joking that their meet-ups are “very romantic.”
“It is a time away from our kids where we can talk about things — including the bathroom remodel,” she shared.
