WASHINGTON — A Latin Grammy winner running as a Democratic House candidate in Texas once told a woman online to shave her “la cotorra” and joked about rape with another female commenter.
Award-winning singer and married dad of four sons Bobby Pulido, 55, who is locked in a competitive contest to unseat Republican incumbent Rep. Monica De La Cruz, has a lengthy history of sordid and crass social-media posts that have rocked his campaign.
But recently unearthed additional posts — many of which have since been scrubbed from his confirmed accounts — show that Pulido was even more vulgar to women than previously known.
“I remember when @bobbypulido425 wanted me and even raped me in his DRESSING ROOOOM—holy sh—, that dude is a legend,” a user wrote on X in Spanish in 2019, according to a translation.
Pulido responded in Spanish, “Shhh… it was our secret.”
Both individuals appeared to be joking.
In response to a request for comment from The Post, Pulido posted a video on social media grumbling over coverage of his past posts and claiming they were “old jokes between me and my personal friends.”
“I know all of these people. We were joking back and forth years ago. This was Mexican humor. Our humor is sarcastic, brutal, and full of slang that doesn’t survive Google Translate.”
Pulido also decried the “woke right” for focusing on his social media history.
“You’d better shave your p—y,” he also then wrote in January 2020 to a woman on X who posted a selfie and asked if she should cut her hair, revealed a translation.
A few months after that, while responding to a user whose post has since been deleted, Pulido remarked, “Help us find that goth big-ass chick.
“This dude is suffering a ton,” he said, according to a translation.
The aspiring congressman has previously faced controversy over resurfaced posts in which he told an Asian person to “open your Asian eyes” and suggested that molesting children is “not necessarily rape.”
In 2020, Pulido also replied to a fan who claimed to be ill with an image of women sucking on chicken soup in very suggestive ways.
In 2018, he also posted an image of his coffee drink that he mused was shaped like a butt. In a thread to that post that remains up on his X account, Pulido shared an image of a cartoon woman bent over in a sexual manner.
Two years earlier, he had posted a selfie of himself on a couch, writing, “Here on my black couch.
“Casting anybody??”
The remark was an apparent reference to the concept of the Hollywood casting couch in which higher-ups demand sexual favors from underlings such as aspiring actors in exchange for work.
In one since-deleted post, Pulido also riffed about a female bodybuilder who supposedly drank semen smoothies and claimed to never fall ill as a result. She was supposedly planning to use it to fight against COVID-19 as well.
“Ladies, finally we’re good for something,” he mused.
Pulido often made his vulgar posts in Spanish. Sometimes they seemed random, and other times, he was engaging with his fanbase.
“I pick up so much ass they call me the tow truck,” he wrote in a 2014 response to a user in a thread that appeared to have missing posts, making the full context unclear.
The singer has spent years occasionally trafficking in sexual innuendo while engaging with his fans. At one point, he likened long posts on X to a wife who “never shuts up.”
Additionally, Pulido, who once portrayed a public masturbator in a vulgar music video, has dealt with questions over his ties to his ex-longtime bandmate Frankie Caballero, who was convicted of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl in 2014.
Pulido had backed on a YouTube show in 2019 about how he went to Caballero “out of jail,” while glossing over the details about why his bandmate was behind bars in the first place. The Post previously reported on how Pulido toured with Caballero after his four-year prison stint.
The aspiring congressman’s spokesperson previously stressed that Pulido didn’t post bail for Caballero or “pick him up from jail or prison” and was just riffing on that YouTube show.
His race against De La Cruz is currently rated a toss-up by the Cook Political Report.
