Titans backup quarterback Will Levis paid an “exorbitant” financial price to scrap an intimate sex tape with his college girlfriend from the internet after his personal device was targeted by an Eastern European hacking group, according to his mother, Beth.
During a Monday appearance on the “Ross Tucker Football Podcast,” Beth recalled getting a phone call from Will apologizing repeatedly after he learned that a sex tape of him and his ex had gone viral on social media in May 2024.
“As soon as he started talking my heart immediately sank. … I ended up pulling over and come to find out that my son had just found out a couple hours [before] he discovered that there was a very intimate video of he and his ex girlfriend that had gone viral all over social media platforms. The first words out of Will’s mouth were, ‘I’m so sorry, mom,’ and it just broke my heart,” Beth explained.
“Will actually ended up engaging in hiring a cyber security specialist and spent an exorbitant amount of money to try to get to the bottom of this, and through that try to scrape — it’s amazing that you can do this, it’s crazy these people are even available — what they could to ultimately make this go away. And ultimately a lot of the content was taken down, but you can never scrape anything entirely from the internet, it’s there forever, there is a footprint unfortunately.”
The investigation revealed who had hacked her son.
“We did find out that actually this content was stolen and his private either laptop or digital platform/phone was actually breached and invaded a year or two earlier when he was in college,” Beth said. “And we come to find out this was an Eastern European hacking group that is notorious for trying to target what they think might be an attractive couple they can then expose and do what they do for attention.
“We actually came to terms with that, at least we knew where it came from. It wasn’t something malicious from who knows, somebody else.”
Beth, who disputed the notion that the video was leaked by Levis or his ex, did not name her son’s college girlfriend.
Levis dated his ex, Gia Duddy, while at Kentucky and Penn State.
The influencer went viral at the 2023 NFL Draft as she supported him when he slide out of the first round.
They split in October 2023, according Barstool Sports’ “Pardon My Take” podcast.
Beth appeared on the show for Mental Health Awareness Month and said that her son’s situation helped rebrand her lifestyle brand, Chill Life.
“As a principally driven person, and with these experiences being so raw and utterly awful, it really bothered me that I did not use these examples for the better and making it a point to air it out to use it as an example,” Beth said.
“So basically what was born out of that angst is — I sat down and I was like, I have this lifestyle brand and we’ve already been in the positivity space and maybe we can reframe this and rebrand with an emphasis on preaching the importance of in how important it is to take time out from our devices, to actually engage with real life and form deeper meaningful stronger foundations of relationships with ourselves and with others because unfortunately these type of things are a part of our life.”
